Being Savannah - Chapter One (miss)understood

It was suggested to me that I should start a blog because I have a lot to say. I liked the idea but now that I have sat here thinking for 24 hours , I don't feel maybe I have anything interesting to say! I read a few articles about blogging and it told me to pick some subjects. I decided since I have performed in SL wrestling for 2 years this would be a good start , though this is not all my blog will be about.

The more I thought about the blog and SL wrestling , I thought this was a good idea because there are a lot of things out there about me in the community that aren't true. I am not asking to change people's minds because we know this is impossible , this is just my blog and my story and people can take or leave it! I just feel like I'm known for all the wrong reasons here and I'd prefer just to put my story out there , maybe people can learn from it.

I started my career in SL wrestling in November 2009. I was at a club and there was mud wrestling there and it got me thinking if there was real wrestling in SL! I did a search and the first place that pulled up was the XWA - Xtreme Wrestling Alliance (now known as the VWE). When I arrived there , I was really impressed. There was a full arena , titantrons , commentary , lighting system , it looked like everything in RL. It was the total package.

As I wandered around the lobby , the first person to approach me was JW Beeswing. He was a very very tall man and he asked me what I was doing here. I told him I was interested in how all of this works and he was like "OK FILL OUT AN APP YOU WILL BE ME VALET!" lmao. It was very funny he is a nice guy but he showed me around the arena , got me an application and introduced me to Loody Graves.

I had an interview with Loody Graves and he told me how everything worked. I thought it'd just be like a fighting HUD/system and let the best one win. It was more than that , it was run like a RL business. Storyline writers , backstage staff , performers , valets. Everybody in the company had a place and a job to perform. I was very starstruck by everything and knew I wanted to be apart of this world or at least give it a try! During the interview it was agreed that I would take on a business gimmick and valet for Loody Graves , in my freetime I would begin training to become a full time performer.

The next day I started training with Loody , it was not a hard system to learn. Most of it to me was just learning the ropes , learning the basics of the systems. Doing the moves are really easy , it was all about lining up and positioning. If you have knowledge how matches work it's really not that hard to grasp. Most of the work is writing the match and putting it all together , making sure it can make sense. Anybody can spam a bunch of moves in the ring but it's all about the story telling you do with each move to make sure you tell you stand out and put out a quality performance.

The next day I made my debut on the Wednesday show XWA had. I forget what it was called but it was catered during european times. I came to the ring with Loody in my black business suit. I forget who he was wrestling also , I just remember being very nervous. I do remember Loody lost the match and the important thing he told me backstage after the match was that it's not about win/loss , it's about putting out a quality match. This was something that was stuck in my mind because a lot of people misunderstand this.

For the next few weeks , I continued to follow Loody to ring. Working has his valet , would jump on the apron and dance to distract whoever he was facing. My first physical contact was working a match ringside where Loody faced Seth Cameron. During the match I tried to get involved and Charisma Aries beat me down lol. It was a lot of fun and my first real catfight in SL wrestling. She got the best of me! My first real match was an opening match on Primtime. They needed to fill a card and asked Kandi Fallen and myself to get on our bikinis and wrestle in them. This was my first match on a show! (besides my training match against Kimberly Soulstar) It was very short and I defeated her , it was a really good match for being new.

Shortly after I get involved in a storyline with Tony Da Tiger and Loody Graves fighting over me. Tony was saying that I was double timing Loody with him. We had a lot of fun with this storyline. I got to come out of the business gimmick storyline and play something more fun and seductive. I remember coming to the ring to do a promo and I was dressed in a holiday outfit. I told all the fans that I was here to spread some "holiday cheer" and I was going to get naked! I started to perform a striptease for the fans then some music hit! It was Vendetta and Mr. Bunny!!!! She basically told me the show was over and decided to beat me down!!! (Seemed like the past time of the VWE Bombshells to beat me down)

Loody came to the ring to save me and then Tony Da Tiger came out. Showed some photographs of me nude in the bathrub which enraged Loody. The two of them signed a contract where the winner would win my services at Wrestleseries 1. During the lead up to Wrestleseries things were really tense for me. I started to not feel very welcome by a lot of the other Bombshells and back then I didn't understand but I understand now. (More on that later)

Wrestleseries 1 came and it was a great match with a great ending! Loody retained my services and I was able to stay with him (storyline wise). After Wrestleseries , I was basically told that I was being cut from being his valet. I didn't understand at the time but I felt very betrayed. Loody and I did have a relationship outside of SL wrestling. I was very naive and stupid , I did not know many things about the business and made a mistake. People were unwelcoming to me because I felt like they seen me as the "bad girl" , when I was involved with him. I had no idea who Louve McMahon was or that she was engaged to Loody. There was nothing in his profile about it and no partnership and he never spoke about her to me.

I did eventually find out from other people about the truth and that's when I told Loody that I would no longer see him. I was young in SL and naive to the SL wrestling business and this kind of tarnished my image. It's like a black cloud that has hung over my head for years in this industry and I am still judged today because of it. I did the right thing when I found out and apologized to Louve (we had to come a long way from this) , and stopped seeing him. I just felt after that I was ruined image wise with the company. A lot of the girls were not very polite to me and I didn't feel like stay there anymore. My friend Curt Bombastic and I were trying to work together but it was not able to work out. So I decided to leave the company even though I really did not want to.

I had the talent and all the tools to be a great performer but the mistake I made stuck with me. There were a lot of people I did look up to while I was there. Bombshell wise; Eliza Riddler , Kimberly Soulstar , Vendetta Zabaleta , & Nanny Gothly. These 4 girls were on the top there. For the men I really admired; Derrick Cult , Loody Graves , Curt Bombastic , & Seth Cameron. In ring wise.

I will close this as "Chapter 1" for my story about SL wrestling. If you are still reading way to go!

- Savannah xoxo
